What ended up impressing us most was her expertise across all areas: market conditions throughout neighborhoods in the city, spotting opportunities, her shrewd negotiating tactics, and pointing out neighborhood nuances – all the way down to street by street analysis to secure our new home.
When baby #2 was on the way we made the decision to stay in the city and not head to the ‘burbs. We knew we needed to leave our wonderful, but petite, condo in the Lake Street District and begin our hunt for a single family home in the city. We also knew we needed a strong partner who was level-headed and business-minded to help us navigate the complexities and realities of San Francisco real estate.
Initially we selected Maureen because she has especially deep knowledge of the Lake Street, Inner, Central, and Outer Richmond Districts. But what ended up impressing us most was her expertise across all areas: market conditions throughout neighborhoods in the city, spotting opportunities, her shrewd negotiating tactics, and pointing out neighborhood nuances – all the way down to street by street analysis to secure our new home.
We knew she would be a strong partner but we didn’t realize at the outset just how talented she is.
She proved to be invaluable again when we were ready to price our condo and bring it to market. She went above and beyond by securing triple bids on every project, putting together what proved to be an extremely effective marketing program, plus paying attention to every detail from light fixtures to towels. Her advice contributed to the sale of our home in less than 30 days and at 10 percent over asking.
It’s also worth noting that her organization and attention to detail made the purchase of our new home and the sale of our condo go off without a hitch. It was a very busy time for us but she kept everything together on our behalf.
As others have said before, the added bonus in all of this is Maureen’s friendship. We were always glad to hear her voice on the line, she was consistently pleasant and professional with us as well as the other partners involved (including other agents), and even our young daughter and dog became fast friends with her. The whole process of buying and selling can be stressful and long, so having someone that is easy to work with and kind really goes a long way.
The Ahlstrands sold their 5th Avenue condominium for 10 percent over the list price and moved into a 4 bedroom single family home in the Richmond neighborhood.
